DIAGNOSTIC ULTRASOUNDS

Diganostic Abdominal Ultrasounds

An abdominal ultrasound is a noninvasive procedure used to assess the organs and structures within the abdomen. This can include the liver, gallbladder, pancreas, bile ducts, spleen, abdominal aorta, and inferior vena cava. Ultrasound technology allows quick visualization of the abdominal organs and structures from outside the body and can also be used to assess blood flow to abdominal organs.

Diagnostic OB/GYN Ultrasounds

A pelvic ultrasound is a noninvasive diagnostic exam that produces images that are used to assess organs and structures within the female pelvis. It allows quick visualization of the female pelvic organs and structures including the uterus, cervix, vagina, the area of the fallopian tubes and ovaries.

An obstetrical ultrasound can help your health care provider establish how far along you are as well as evaluate your baby's growth and development while monitoring your pregnancy. In some cases, fetal ultrasound is used to evaluate possible problems or help confirm a diagnosis.

Diagnostic Vascular Ultrasounds

Vascular ultrasounds are noninvasive tests healthcare providers use to evaluate blood flow in the arteries and veins almost anywhere in the body. Providers use this test to diagnose blood clots and peripheral artery disease. You may also have this test to see if you’re a good candidate for angioplasty or to check blood vessel health after bypass.

Diagnostic General & Miscellaneous Ultrasounds

Ultrasound can be used to evaluate soft tissue structures and organs that are close to the skin surface. Common uses include imaging of the thyroid, palpable lumps or bumps anywhere on the body, to look for and evaluate hernias, as well as evaluate the scrotum and ensure proper blood flow to the testicles.
